Our Fall Garlic Planting is done, for 2026

Well, it has been quite the warm October so far. I waited until after a rain to plant, and it's still dry, but what a lovely feeling to have the garlic in the ground.

I am not selling any more garlic for the season, other than for drop in customers coming for vegetables at the farm (there is very little left).

I did end up planting at least 3,500 foot row of garlic, plus there is space for spring planting the Creoles and Silver Skins.

By comparison, last year I did 4,200 foot row total. So, if we have better success (not as much plant loss to fusarium in late June) the amount I have available next year might be about the same as this year.

The eternal farming mantra "next year will be better" is a calming refrain. We always plant with that hope.
